Greenfields School re-opens School Saving Scheme
On the 9th April 2024 Greenfield School in Merthyr Tydfil reopened their School Savings Scheme for pupils, parents and staff.
Greenfield School in Pentrebach caters for pupils with special needs and additional learning needs from ages 3 to 19.
The savings scheme takes place every Tuesday and if you or your child want to save contact Alison Hamer and Claire Hyett at the school for more information.
Merthyr Credit Union Chief Executive, Delyth Shearing said "We’re delighted to welcome Greenfields School back to the School Savings Scheme as it is so important to teach children from a very young age about money, savings and finances.
Greenfield School is one of 11 schools in the Borough that the credit union partners with, so if your school is interested in getting involved then please reach out"
Alison Hamer, Greenfields said ‘We’re pleased to be partnering with Merthyr Credit Union because we think it’s important for our pupils to feel part of their community, learning invaluable life skills to support their independence whilst gaining experience about handling money and budgeting.
When your child opens an account with the Credit Union, they get a FREE piggy box and an account book to keep track of their account.
If your child is interested in saving, check out the schools currently running the savings scheme HERE and contact the school to join or if your school isn’t on the list please get in touch via email info@mtbcu.org.uk or 01685 377888 and we will contact the school.
