Second Annual MoneyWorks Wales event with Merthyr Credit Union a success!

03 October 2025

Second Annual MoneyWorks Wales event with Merthyr Credit Union a success!

On 24th September 2025, we held our second annual MoneyWorks Wales networking breakfast at the Orbit Centre in Merthyr Tydfil, bringing together current and existing payroll partners to share experience of payroll deduction and how its helping staff and employers.

Those in attendance were Leader of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council Cllr Brent Carter, Deputy Leader Cllr David Carter, MoneyWorks Representative Riswan Shams, Warm Wales, Federation of Small Business Wales and CASE UK.

Celia Enyioko-Hanniford, Head of Employee Engagement and Involvement at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, our largest payroll partner shared a video presentation which was followed by a Question-and-Answer session with Sam Hoyland, Client Services Manager at JNP Legal about why JNP Legal became MoneyWorks partners, the benefits of the scheme to the business and more.

For the second year running, representatives from two of our other MoneyWorks partners, Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association and Welsh Government came along to support the event and share their experiences with those attending.

Feedback was again very positive from those in attendance, many of whom expressed the importance of MoneyWorks Wales and how it is helping employees and employers, especially around the benefits the Credit Union offers its members and we are hoping to make an announcement on new payroll partners.

Delyth Shearing, Chief Executive said ‘For the second year we brought together current payroll partners, interested local businesses and third sector organisations for a successful morning of presentations and networking sharing the importance of financial wellbeing.

It was great to see new faces and long-time MoneyWorks partners and we would like to thank all those who attended and who continue to support the Credit Union and the work we do supporting local business building financial resilience and promoting financial wellbeing to employees.’
