New MoneyWorks Wales Champions for Merthyr Tydfil Credit Union

We are delighted to welcome two new MoneyWorks Wales Champion’s to our payroll deduction scheme to spread the word about the benefits of savings and borrowing directly from your pay.

MoneyWorks Wales is the payroll deduction scheme from six Welsh credit unions and allows staff to save and/ or make loan repayments via their pay. Its FREE for employers and easy to set up, while providing a great employee benefit and its open to employers large and small.

Emily Hughes, Colleague Wellbeing Partner at Merthyr Valley Homes and Thomas Bunce, Community Development Officer at Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association became MoneyWorks Champion’s in April, they are keen to get their colleagues saving and borrowing from their pay and promoting the scheme at their employers.

Delyth Shearing, Chief Executive said ‘It’s great to have Tom and Emily as MoneyWorks Champions from the two Housing Association’s in the borough. Both are enthusiastic about MoneyWorks Wales and the credit union and keen to strengthen our long-standing payroll collaboration.

And with the cost-of-living crisis still having an impact, being able to offer local employers the payroll deduction is a key part of the Credit Union’s core purpose to help build financial resilience for local people and communities.’

If you work for either Merthyr Valley Homes or Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association and want more information on saving or borrowing from your pay get in touch with Tom or Emily or email us at info@mtbcu.org.uk

If you are an employee or employer interested in signing up to MoneyWorks contact Vicki at Merthyr Tydfil Credit Union on 01685 377888 or info@mtbcu.org.uk
