Make a Difference - Board Members Wanted
Merthyr Tydfil Borough Credit Union is calling on local community champions, passionate advocates, and experienced professionals to step forward and help guide its next chapter as a Board Member.
For over 27 years, the credit union has provided affordable and inclusive alternative to high-cost credit across South Wales. Operating as a financial cooperative, it delivers affordable loans and reliable savings products designed to put people before profits and keep money circulating within the local economy.
Now, as demand grows for community-led financial services, the credit union is expanding its governance team. The organization is actively seeking passionate individuals to join its Board of Directors to support operations and strategic growth across Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.
A Gateway to Board-Level Leadership
Joining the board offers a valuable opportunity to step into a Non-Executive Director (NED) role, help steer a long-standing financial cooperative, and contribute directly to long-term economic resilience in the region.
Whether you bring expertise in business administration, legal affairs, financial services, or community outreach, or simply hold a strong commitment to making a positive social impact, your perspective can make a significant difference.
How to Get Involved
Board members play a key role in ensuring the credit union remains robust, member-focused, and accessible to everyone in the valleys. No prior board experience is necessary—full induction, training, and ongoing support are provided to all new trustees.
